Dog Park Initiative Charter
Purpose: The Dog Park Initiative (DPI) promotes and fosters responsible dog ownership, fellowship & a safe environment for our four-legged family members.
Scope: The Bark Park provides a fenced-in, off leash area where well-behaved canine citizens can exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering people, property or wildlife. The DPI supports Alamo Country Club (ACC) as stray animals find their way into the community.
Responsibilities: This group maintains and enhances the Bark Park area. It collaborates with other ACC committees, clubs, and groups and wider community groups to support its purpose and scope. The Committee will provide an annual financial and activity report to the Board of Directors.
Members: ACC members/residents that have registered with the DPI and ACC members/residents supportive of the DPI make up the group. Volunteers serve as officers (Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer) and are approved by the membership at the first meeting of the year.
Meetings: Meetings are convened by the Chairperson as needed.
Project Funding: The DPI incurs monthly expenses for maintenance (water, sewer, trash, chemical treatments, etc.) and additional expenses for enhancement. Funding is through community events scheduled throughout the year (ie: soup and salad, chicken tenders, etc) and donations.
